Three things you need to know about CTP remote monitoring
With today’s clients demanding greater speed, consistency, and quality of print — often to even tighter deadlines — print shops may find themselves operating for longer hours, potentially even printing 24/7. This can stretch critical parts of the printing process, like plate making, which can sometimes be managed with the help of remote monitoring.
The unique KODAK Mobile CTP Control App offers the latest in remote monitoring technology, designed to help you streamline and empower your plate making operation. It puts a suite of dynamic controls in your hand, to make your computer-to-plate (CTP) process truly flexible. Data dashboards give you a comprehensive picture of your jobs, both current and historical, while push notifications alert you when issues need your attention.
This is the next level of CTP management, built for a fully flexible age. With the KODAK Mobile CTP Control App in your hand, your machines will be running more efficiently, helping your business meet your clients’ changing needs. And it will free your team to focus on other tasks, potentially bringing even more revenue to your business.
Here are three key things you need to know about CTP remote monitoring.

CTP – Why now might be the time to invest in new equipment
September 05, 2023
Prepress and platemaking serve to keep the pressroom continuously supplied with printing plates, so that the presses can be set up smoothly ready for reliable, high-quality printing. Computer-to-plate (CTP) has been firmly established as a proven technology, but times have changed in the printing business.
As run lengths continue to decline, there is an increasing trend towards production methods that enable more automation, produce less waste, shorten job turnaround times and bring greater efficiency as well as cost savings. In the case of offset presses, for example, this has led to the development of solutions for autonomous or fully automated printing. The presses handle print jobs from start to finish without any operator intervention. The automation of complex production processes is also a welcome opportunity to alleviate the growing shortage of skilled labor.
In addition, the trend towards greater sustainability and more environmentally friendly practices in printing, which has already been evident for a number of years, has intensified.
Why you should upgrade to T-Speed Plus
August 30, 2023
With T-Speed Plus, the name says everything. The 8-up CTP speed option for the KODAK MAGNUS Q800 Platesetter is not only the world’s fastest, but it also boasts a vast range of extra features that may revolutionize your offset workflow.
If you’re looking to get even greater productivity from your offset workflow, the competitiveness you can get from increasing your computer-to-plate (CTP) throughput with T-speed Plus is worth a look. The KODAK MAGNUS Q800 with T-Speed Plus is the world’s fastest 8-up computer-to-plate (CTP) system, and it boasts the kind of performance that’s incredibly hard to ignore.
T-Speed Plus was introduced in late 2022 to boost the speed of the high-performance KODAK MAGNUS Q800. It now offers a throughput of up to 84 B1 or 8-up plates per hour (pph). That’s equivalent to one plate every 42.9 seconds.
T-Speed Plus is Kodak’s third speed upgrade for the MAGNUS Q800 in four years, and with it comes a number of advantages over previous models. For starters, T-Speed Plus is 40% faster than the Z-Speed generation of Kodak platesetters introduced in 2018. This increase in speed is 20% faster than the speed of the closest two competitors, so you can produce more plates in less time, cut costs, and meet tighter deadlines with T-Speed Plus than other CTP devices.
Also noteworthy is that T-speed Plus is supported by all levels of automation, including the newly-updated Multi-Pallet Loader (MPL), which can hold up to 3,200 plates in up to four formats, and comes with several other automated features that can help to reduce human error.
